The History behind the Ohio Cobra Club and the London Cobra Show

The Ohio Cobra Club

The Ohio Cobra Club, formed in 2004, is a group of fun loving and benevolent car enthusiasts with a passion for high performance cars and helping sick kids. The mission of the club is for the members to have fun with our cars and raise money for charity. To help with the fund raising part of the mission we gained 501c3 non-profit status in 2006 and we have been having fun and raising money for our favorite charity, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, ever since. To date, The Ohio Cobra Club has donated nearly $780,000 to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Throughout the year the club organizes many events such as club meetings, holiday parties, car builds, cruises through various scenic areas in Ohio and of course, The London Cobra Show in London, Ohio (more about the show later). These events all support our mission of having fun and raising money.

Or main fund raiser each year comes from tickets sales for the raffle of a beautifully built Cobra replica. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at the many shows and events that club members travel to as well as purchasing them online at the London Cobra Show website. The London Cobra Show

The lucky winning raffle ticket is drawn each year at our main event, The London Cobra Show. This event, which is always held in June the week after Father’s day, takes place over an entire week with the main show event taking place on Saturday in the town of London, Ohio. The ticket draw occurs on Saturday night under the tent in Hilliard, Ohio.

The show itself is a combination car show, social event and charity fund raiser. Show attendees will have the opportunity to see hundreds of beautifully crafted cars, buy t-shirts and other memorabilia and visit booths of the many vendor’s who attend the show each year. Some of the other events that occur during show week include:

* Cruises to various interesting and scenic locations throughout Ohio

* Track days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course where participants can receive expert instruction from world class driving instructors and take hot laps in their cars around the thrilling course at Mid-Ohio

* Autocross

* Charity rides ($10 gets you a ride in a show car with all the proceeds going to our charity)

* Line up and parade of 100s of cars into the town of London

People who wish to support our cause can do so in many ways. Simply by buying a ticket you will be giving yourself a chance to win a high performance car as well as helping us raise money for our charity. Also you can come to the show in London in June (admission is free)and view the spectacular array of cars on display and if you want a thrill, purchase a charity ride in one our member’s cars.
